Will Sea Foam help my 1971 VW Bus run better? [SOLVED]

I have a 1971 1600 cc VolksWagon Bus. Runs well, but it is loud and bogs out and sound like a lot is going on with it. Before I dive into taking it apart, I’d like to run a couple cans of Sea Foam through the gas tank and into the oil reservoir. Think Sea Foam can help?

Thanks for the question, Alex. Varnish residues that restrict carburetor circuits would be the most likely issue causing the engine to bog down, hesitate and lose power. Cleaning varnish is an easy fix! What I’d do: 1) Get 2 cans of Sea Foam High Mileage and add half a can to the oil crankcase, then the remaining 1.5 cans to a low tank of fuel… then take the VW for a 10 to 20-minute drive to draw the Sea Foam & fuel mix through the carburetor circuits.  2) Apply a can of Sea Foam Spray into the carburetor throat with the engine running at 1,500 to 2,000 RPM (read can instructions). If the trouble was caused by varnish you should notice a lot of improvement within a day!
