Use Sea Foam Spray to clean the upper engine of any gasoline car or truck (not for use in diesel). For your F150, this knowledge base page should show you everything you need to know:
I have an 2009 F150 5.4 V8 Triton and when I pop off the housing to the throttle body there is no throttle plate. How do I apply the Sea Foam Spray in this case?
Hey Jason – thanks for the question. Here’s what our Tech Director, Richard, had to say:
“I have a feeling that you are not completely accessing the Throttle Body. There is a “Air Cleaner Outlet pipe to Throttle Body”(6) adapter above the Throttle body on your F-150. To access the throttle body on your F-150, that adapter needs to be removed. The Throttle Body is located below part (7) in the diagram below. If you are still having trouble or confused, please call @ 952-938-4811 and ask for Richard. I’d be happy to assist you further.”
