Sea Foam now or before oil change [SOLVED]

I have a 2007 Honda Fit with 245,000 miles! I’ve never ever had any trouble with the engine. I do put Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank every other fill up, only because my grandfather always swore by it! My question is this; should I put a can of Sea Foam Motor Treatment in my oil now or wait till I change it again. I change my oil about every 8,000 miles and I use a 5w20 full synthetic oil…

Great question, Larry.

Here’s what I’d do: wait until you are about 100-300 miles from your next oil change, and add the Sea Foam to the oil then. Add 1 oz of Sea Foam per quart of oil. Adding it before the oil change does two things:

One, it gives the Sea Foam time to circulate and clean as you drive

Two, it allows you do drain away everything the Sea Foam cleaned (residues, etc. from the oil system) when you drain away the old oil.

Hope that helps!
