Sea Foam in SAE30 oil [SOLVED]

Can Sea Foam be used in an old engine (1949 Chevrolet 216) that uses SAE30 oil? I can only imagine the deposits in this engine. It does run.

Thanks for the question, Brian! Yes, Sea Foam can be used in an old engine like your Chevy. It’s safe in any type of motor oil including SAE30.

Add 1oz of Sea Foam per quart of oil and run it a while before you change the oil. It might take a few oil change cycles to clean everything out, but if you keep adding Sea Foam shortly before an oil change, it will work well to reliquefy the deposits over time.

Hope that helps!
