In the gas tank, our general rule of thumb is to add 1 ounce per gallon of fuel for routine maintenance. That said, it works very well to add a higher concentration to clean your fuel system. Here’s what I’d do:
Wait until you have a low tank of fuel (1/8 tank or so)
Add a full can (16 oz) of Sea Foam Motor Treatment or Sea Foam High Mileage
Drive until almost empty (at least 20 miles)
Refill with fresh fuel and drive as usual
The high concentration works very well to clean and is the best way to use a can of Sea Foam.
In oil, add 1 oz per quart of oil in the crankcase. Sea Foam works in oil to reliquefy residues so they can be drained away with the old oil. We recommend adding it 100-300 miles before your next oil change.
