Can I add Sea Foam before and after oil change? [SOLVED]
Asked by John H. In South Carolina
Can I add 1 once of Sea Foam Motor Treatment, drive 50 miles, then change the oil and filter, then add correct amount of Sea Foam to the new oil with the change of new filter?
Hi John – thanks for the question! You are on the right track
Here’s what I’d do: add 1 ounce of Sea Foam per quart of oil. Then, drive 100-300 miles before changing the oil and filter.
Driving the extra 50-250 miles gives the Sea Foam a chance to clean residues and deposits in the oil system. Then, everything that got cleaned up can be drained away with the old oil.
You can add Sea Foam after the oil change as well, as you described.
